Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga Teacher Training

August 2023 – July 2024

*Updated Please Read*

The Nyingma Institute is offering its second Level 1 Kum Nye Teacher Training, and invites you to join this in-depth exploration of the first Kum Nye text by Tarthang Tulku. This 11-month program will run between August 21, 2023, and July 22, 2024. Nine weekend workshops are included, as well as a weekly class during the Early Fall 2023 through Late Spring 2024 academic terms.

The class will be taught predominantly online, so we can include participants who live at a distance from Berkeley. The weekly class will be presented live online at two different times each week: Monday evenings Pacific Time led by Nyingma Institute faculty; and Wednesday evenings BST/GMT led by our assisting instructors in the U.K. While all weekend workshops will be available live online, we will try to include at least one hybrid workshop with in-person attendance encouraged if possible.

While this is a teacher training program, those who want to take a deep dive into Kum Nye but who are not interested in becoming certified to teach are most welcome to join.

Faculty include veteran Kum Nye teachers from the Nyingma Institute including Abbe Blum, Santosh Philip, Anita McNulty, and Donna Morton.

Program Cost: $2,500

  • Payment in full:  A $500 early bird discount is offered for program payment in full before July 1, 2023 (total $2,000). After July 1, payment in full is $2,500.
  • Monthly payment plans (10 installments): An initial $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place. Payment plans are based on the full amount of $2,500. A $200 discount is offered for registering prior to July 1, 2023 (total $2,300) with a payment plan.
  • Cancellation policy:  Refunds are available during the first 4 weeks of the program, minus the $500 deposit.  After 4 weeks, there are no refunds.
