a Caring & Appreciation course

The Time for Appreciation is Now

THURSDAYS, 6 pm – 7:30 pm PT (OCT. 27, 2022 – DEC. 8, 2022)

“If we could appreciate our own energy flow, our rhythms of breathing, our beating hearts, we might recover wholeness and balance, and with it our human dignity.”
Seeing the Beauty of Being, p. 109

Join us to explore the treasures that have been available to us since birth, ready to be discovered and appreciated on our journey to a caring life.
.
Opening our hearts to these gifts and to their conditions of time and space will allow the dynamism and changes of life to unfold in appreciation.
.
Classes offer experiential ways of learning, mainly through guided reflections and meditation practices, Tibetan yoga exercises, group sharing and discussions. Between classes, there are additional practices and exercises, as well as readings, to enhance the possibilities for engaging in appreciation in action now!

WHY NOW?
.
While it is true that any time is the time for appreciation, at present there are changes occurring in our world that bring a great deal of disruption, conflict, and fear. It often feels like we have lost the ability to control the difficulties in our lives. Our efforts leave little time or energy for what we crave: joy, contentment, and comfort.
.
In response to such widespread suffering, a team at Odiyan developed this course as a means of exploring and developing resources that are especially important in this present time.
.
Together, we will practice how to be healthy by learning how to nourish ourselves with inner resources that are already available to us. We will learn how to be more grounded in the way we are living in today’s world, and we will practice living with confidence despite our fears.
.
The secret to this change lies in learning to practice appreciation for the gift of our lives, for our breath, and for our precious inner resources.
Our embodiment is like a golden tree,
full of treasures to enjoy and appreciate
