“The physical exercises of Kum Nye are only the outward forms of a holistic vision of being. Their true value lies in their ability to stimulate energy that joins body and mind in a continuum of joy and appreciation. In mastering Kum Nye, we learn how to benefit from all manner of experience; we gain confidence that is grounded in self-knowledge and establish a foundation of joy that can sustain us throughout our lives. We learn what it means to be complete in ourselves. We discover what it means to BE.” (Introduction to The Joy of Being xiv)
This weekend workshop is a rare opportunity to dive more deeply into Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga with a group of senior international Kum Nye instructors from around the world —from the Netherlands to England to California. These teachings focus on Kum Nye for the mind as set out in Tarthang Tulku’s second book, The Joy of Being. Kum Nye relaxes the regime of mind and opens up the joy that is our birthright.
The workshop previews an intensive Joy of Being program that will offer the option of teacher training, begins in October 2025 and runs to February of 2027. Whether you simply wish to deepen your Kum Nye and meditation practice and gain access to joy, satisfaction and healing; or if you are specifically interested in Joy of Being teacher training consider ‘tasting’ advanced Kum Nye these two days.
