MED502 Inner Peace: Developing Confidence Retreat
April 9 – 11

Meditation cultivates deep inner peace. In this retreat, meditation instruction and practice calm the restless mind and develop inner confidence.
$175 (nonresidential); $250 (residential). Instructor: Bob Byrne. Retreat begins Friday at 10 AM and concludes Sunday at 3 PM. The practices presented in this retreat are suitable for all levels of students. Retreat is part of the following Certificate Programs: Beginning Nyingma Meditation Program; Kum Nye (Tibetan Yoga) Program.
NPR501 Preparation for the Time of Death Retreat
April 12 – 17
In this retreat, we prepare for the time of death through studying teachings from the Tibetan tradition that outline the stages through which consciousness passes at death. We learn specific meditations that can be practiced regularly and applied at that crucial time.
$360 (nonresidential); $550 (residential). Instructor: Sylvia Gretchen. Includes the workshop “Transitions as Teachers” on April 17. Retreat begins Monday at 11 AM and ends Saturday at 4:45 PM. Prerequisite: one year of meditation experience or consent of the Instructor. Retreat is part of the following Certificate Program: Two-Year Nyingma Studies Program.
KNR504 Opening the Senses Retreat
May 3 – 8
This retreat makes use of the full range of Kum Nye exercises to enable us to integrate a rich array of positive feelings into body, senses, and mind. The retreat includes a private Kum Nye massage session to promote relaxation.
$675 (residential only). Held at Ratna Ling. Instructors: Donna Morton and Santosh Philip, assisted by the Kum Nye staff. Retreat begins Monday with lunch and concludes Saturday with dinner. Retreat is part of the following Certificate Program: Two-Year Nyingma Studies Program.
NPR503 Enlightenment Retreat
May 27 – 29
It is said that the way to enlightenment can be traveled with a fraction of the effort required to survive the endless suffering of samsara. We bring the goal of enlightenment to mind in this retreat (held on the anniversary of the Buddha’s enlightenment) through meditation, mantra, and prayer that focus on our capacity to transcend suffering.
$175 (nonresidential) $250 (residential). Instructors: Sylvia Gretchen and the Buddhist studies faculty. Retreat begins Thursday at 7 PM and concludes Saturday at 4:45 PM. Retreat is part of the following Certificate Program: Two-Year Nyingma Studies Program.
